With the participation of the leading exponents of Contemporary Dance, the 26th edition of the International José Limón Dance Festival is celebrated in Mazatlan.
This Festival has become an artistic tradition that keeps one of the most important dance personality's legacy alive, which has been considered the best dancer of his time - José Limón - proudly from Sinaloa.
Year after year, the International José Limón Dance Festival has been a joint effort of the State Government, through the Sinaloa's Cultural Institute, and Federal institutions such as the National Council for Culture and the Arts and the National Institute of Fine Arts; The Autonomous University of Sinaloa and the City Governments of Mazatlan, Culiacan and Ahome.
Throughout the International José Limón Dance Festival's history, it has enjoyed presentations by companies from America, Europe, Asia and South Africa, as well as the well-deserved recognition for dance creators, with each edition of the José Limón Contemporary Dance National Prize.
