Canadian Professional Golf Tour Returns to El Cid Golf and Country Club

MAZATLÁN, Mexico (March 26, 2010) – The world’s top golfers converge in sunny Mazatlán for the Corona Mazatlán Mexican PGA Championship. El Cid Golf and Country Club will host this prestigious tournament of the Canadian Professional Golf Tour, taking place April 12 – 19.
The 2010 Corona Mazatlán Mexican PGA Championship brings more than 150 golf professionals from around the world to this top seaside destination. Among them, defending 2009 champion Mauricio Molina of Argentina will return to El Cid Golf and Country Club in pursuit of this year’s championship title and purse of $125,000 USD.
Eliminatory rounds will unfold Thurs., April 15 – Sat., April 17, as El Cid Golf and Country Club’s world-class fairways set the stage for hot competition. The 27-hole championship course offers a par-72 layout and plays up to 6,880 yards. The final round will take place on Sun., April 18. All technical aspects (e.g. rules, tee times, flags and scores) will be managed and sanctioned by the Canadian Professional Golf Tour.
Before the Corona Mazatlán Mexican PGA Championship is underway, players can perfect their swings with two practice days, Mon. April 12 – Tues. April 13. El Cid Country Club will host a festive Pairing Party on Tuesday evening, featuring a cocktail reception, the destination’s renowned seafood cuisine and entertainment. On Wed., April 14, the Canadian Professional Golf Tour will host 40 competitor teams in its Official Pro-Am event.
